Why we salsa

About Jimmy’s Small Batch Salsa

Jimmy’s Small Batch Salsa was born from our family’s heart and kitchen — La Cocina ~ A Mexican Concept, a favorite local hotspot in Casper, Wyoming. For over 30 years, our dad Jim has been crafting this bold, garlicky salsa that’s more than just flavor — it’s a gathering, a memory, a moment shared.

Our family — Jim, Andrea, James, Abigail, and me, Lauren — have built something that goes beyond food. It’s about community and resilience. We believe in people, in you, in love, in salsa.

Now, we’re bringing that same salsa from our restaurant to your kitchen table, your car, your game, or the beach — wherever you feel like snacking. We still make every batch by hand, small and meaningful, because we believe fresh, craveable flavor deserves that kind of care.

But Jimmy’s is more than a snack. It’s the good stuff passed around at midnight, after a long day, after a game — the taste that brings people back to what really matters.

For us, that’s deeply tied to second chances. Both my dad and I are sober. Addiction has touched our family, shaped our lives, and shown us the power of healing.

That’s why a portion of proceeds goes directly to missions, rehab centers, and communities affected by addiction. We also make it a priority to hire people coming out of treatment centers, jails, or transitional housing — people ready to rewrite their story, just like we did.

Also, Jimmy’s a die-hard rock and roll fan—always throwing up his signature rock and roll hand sign. So when it came time to design the logo, it had to be there. The arm, the tattoos, the salsa—it’s all rock and roll. This isn’t just a dip; it’s a show. Classic flavor, turned all the way up, because classic has never tasted so original.

Love,
The Childs
